Sunday Morning Yoga with Kristiana at Kings Gap continues on Sunday, October 15th, 22nd, and 29th starting at 10:00 a.m. On Saturday, October 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. join the Susquehanna Valley Orienteering Club for an Introduction to Orienteering. Join the Terrace Table Talks, which will focus on how plants and animals prepare for winter, on Sunday, October 8th, 15th, and 22nd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. On Saturday, October 21st from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., enjoy the Halloween Heritage & Sunset Hike. Join the Friends of Kings Gap for Ghoulish Gallop 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28th. Hike in your favorite costume and learn the truth about four feared animals during the Creepy Crawlies & Costumes: Halloween Hike on Sunday, October 29th. Garden Harvest Dinner and Silent Auction
Be part of a rare dining event at the Kings Gap Cameron-Masland Mansion. On Friday, September 29th, experience what it might have been like to be a dinner guest of the Camerons or the Maslands “back in the day.” Enjoy cocktails on the terrace beginning at 6:00 p.m. Then, move indoors to savor a full-course dinner at feasting tables at 7:00 p.m. Harrisburg Pianist Bryan Herber will provide musical entertainment throughout the evening. Garden Harvest Day
On Sunday, October 1st from noon to 5:00 p.m. celebrate the bounty of autumn with the Friends of Kings Gap, Cumberland County Master Gardeners and Kings Gap staff. Admission is free although nominal fees will be charged for all “make and take” items. A variety of activities for all ages will feature:
- Kettle-Cooked Chicken Corn Soup
- Apple Cider Pressing
- Apple Butter Making
- Pumpkin Painting
- Bird Feeder Building
- Children’s Games and Crafts
- Hay Rides
- Mum and Pumpkin Walk

Ghoulish Gallop 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
On Saturday, October 28th at 4:00 p.m., this one-mile fun run/walk will start at the Kings Gap Environmental Education Center parking area, proceed along a winding trail with ghouls and zombies along the route, and end at the Mansion pavilion for hot dogs, drinks, and s'mores. Individuals and families are encouraged to pre-register. T-shirt pick-up and day-of registration begins at 3:00 p.m. Pre-registration guarantees a Ghoulish Gallop white T-shirt with treats and goo at four “gunking” stations along the trail. There will be prizes for Most Colorful, Grossest, and Best Halloween Theme, and a grand prize drawing for all pre-registered kids—of all ages. Learn more
Evening of Jazz
On Friday, November 3rd from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. join the Friends of Kings Gap in the Cameron-Masland Mansion for a fine evening of jazz featuring the Steve Rudolph Trio. Ticket prices are $40 per person and must be purchased in advance. The ticket price includes complimentary wine, cheese, and hors d'oeuvres. This concert is underwritten in part by a generous contribution from the Shearer Family Fund of the Foundation for Enhancing Communities on behalf of R. Scott Shearer. Learn more
Holiday Open House
On Sunday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 10th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, enjoy this once-a-year opportunity to explore the Cameron-Masland Mansion, a gracious mountain stone villa built in 1908 as a summer home. Take a self-guided tour of both floors of the mansion in seasonal decor. Enjoy music of the season along with light refreshments including hot spiced cider and a variety of delicious cookies, which will be offered throughout the afternoon each day.
