Day camps at Kings Gap have been developed over many years to meet the needs of each group. Programs are conducted mainly outdoors and are designed to guide campers to enjoyment, awareness, and knowledge of the natural world.
PA State Parks’ DiscoverE camps are designed to help children learn about the world around them. These meaningful environmental education programs provide positive experiences outdoors and allow children to explore nature with others of the same age.
Please keep your child’s abilities in mind when deciding whether they will be comfortable in this learning experience. Instructors cannot provide extensive individual attention while working with their group. Campers must be the appropriate age by the first date of camp to attend that session. Pre-registration and payment is required before start of camp.
Hide-N-Seekers (Age 4-5)
Hide-N-Seekers camp includes hands-on out-door explorations that stimulate environmental awareness within each child. The activities have been designed to meet developmental levels of this age group, with an emphasis on sensory experiences and observation of the natural world.

Investigators (Ages 6-8)
Investigators campers increase their awareness while gaining factual knowledge of the natural world through hands-on activities exploring streams and catching wildlife.

Adventurers (Ages 9-12)
Penn’s Adventurers is a structured approach, guiding children to develop knowledge and problem-solving skills. This camp provides hiking, kayaking, and more in-depth activities, as well as quiet time to relax, observe, and reflect upon the natural environment.

Ambassadors (Ages 13-17)
Ambassador campers have the opportunity to take the reigns and have some control over their experience. These all-day camps combine science, recreation, and the outdoors as unique inspiration for learning.
